“MOAB”

electric WELL worked with New Paltz-based band Blue Museum for our first major forey into compositing and green-screen filmmaking.

Lead guitarist and songwriter Mike Hollis wrote MOAB in reference to the dropping of the ordinance of the same name on an ISIS compound in Iraq. The song speaks to this specific instance of American militarism but also comments on our entanglement in conflicts abroad.

Using these themes as a basis, we placed the band members into a lofi and glitchy set of layered scenes using found footage and original footage along with intensively distorted graphics.
